Calvary Chapel Motorcycle Ministry Patch

It is important for you to know what our patch means so that you can explain to others the heart of the ministry. Please take a minute to read about the meaning of each symbol on our patch.

MM: Motorcycle Ministry

We are a body of believers that desires to minister to the needs of the people.

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old one has gone, the new has come! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to Hinself in Christ, not counting men's sins against them. And He has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ's ambasssadors, as though God were making His appeal through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God."
2 Corinthians 5:17-20
The Cross

The cross is the symbol of Christian faith. It was on the cross that Jesus paid for our sins and made a way for us to have a relationship with God.
"For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the Gospel - not with words of human wisdom, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power. For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God."
1 Corinthians 1:17-18
The Rockers

The rockers symbolize our church and city - not a territory patch, but a call to reach out to our city.
The Burst of Light

The burst of light is intended to remind us that we are the light of the world, a city on a hill that cannot be hidden. We are to live our lives as people who walk in the light of God's goodness and grace.
"You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven."
Matthew 5:14-16
The Skull

Jesus died on the cross that was erected on a hill outside the city gates called "Golgotha", which means skull.
"Finally Pilate handed him over to them to be crucified. So the soldiers took charge of Jesus. Carrying His own cross, He went out to the place of the Skull (which in Aramic is called Golgotha). Here they crucified Him, and with Him two others - one on each side and Jesus in the middle."
John 19:16-18
The Lightning

When Jesus breathed His last breath and gave up His Spirit, there was an earthquake that shook the land. At the same time the veil that separated the Holy of Holies in the temple was torn in two, representing that the separation between God and man had ended. We can now enter into His Presencethrough faith in Jesus Christ, no longer needing a priest to make intercession for us because Jesus Himself is our High Priest.
"With a loud cry, Jesus breathed His last. the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. And when the centurion, who stood there in fromt of Jesus, heard His cry and saw how He died, he said 'Surely this man was the Son of God!"
